REC hosts an art calendar contest

Recently, REC held an art calendar contest for students within REC’s service territory. The winning artwork submitted will be used in the calendar given to the members at REC’s 81st annual meeting.

Students from four schools: Lindsay, Ninnekah, Whitebead and Wynnewood submitted 103 entries. REC received submissions from student in grades sixth through 12th. 

Entries needed to include an electricity theme and contain the letters REC. Students were allowed to use their desired medium on an 8 ½ x 11 inch paper.

REC had local artists, Valerie Beck and Greg Collins, anonymously select the winners for the contest. Beck is a former art teacher and artist from Lindsay and Collins is an artist from Pauls Valley. The judges selected the front cover art winner along with each month winner. 

The front cover art winner is Dusty Smith from Lindsay. Monthly calendar  winners include: Isabella Perez from Lindsay, Haylee Medellin from Lindsay, Brayden Sanders from Lindsay, Braelyn Fowler from Lindsay, Kamdyn  Pool from Lindsay, Carly Eldred from Lindsay, Cassie Stolhand from Lindsay, Madilynn Legare from Lindsay, Garrett Mantooth from Lindsay, Brehana Gaytan from Lindsay, Madelin Smith from Lindsay, Brandon Logston from Lindsay and Montana Dinsmore from Ninnekah.
