Members first. Every day. That’s the power of co-op membership. It means not-for-profit electric cooperatives deliver energy to its members at the cost of service, unlike investor-owned utilities that typically distribute its profits to investors across the nation or even the world – not necessarily to those it serves.

REC was incorporated in 1938 by rural residents. Originally when REC was founded it had approximately 100 members, however, today REC has over 2,900 miles of distribution lines serving power to more than 11,000 meters. The service area includes parts of Garvin, McClain, Grady, Stephens, Comanche and Carter counties in south central Oklahoma. REC is governed by a nine-member board of trustees, all of whom are members of the Cooperative. REC is dedicated to provide dependable electric power, service and programs to enhance the quality of life in rural areas.
